Volleyball Recap: Spring Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Kennedy Newton and Malaya Dewey

Spring Valley and Rock Hill squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Spring Valley had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats. The Vikings have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-21, 19-25, 25-22, 25-16.

Spring Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Malaya Dewey and Kennedy Newton. Dewey had 19 digs and two assists, while Newton had ten digs and three aces. Dewey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last ten games she's played.
