After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Potomac School, Fredericksburg Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Oakcrest Chargers get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Scarlett Whittaker's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Rylie Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Becca Medina, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Fredericksburg Christian has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Oakcrest, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.
