Baseball Preview: Carroll Eagles vs. Eufaula Tigers
Carroll is 1-8 against Eufaula since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Carroll Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Eufaula Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Carroll will be strutting in after a win while Eufaula will be coming in after a loss.
On Saturday, Carroll earned an 8-3 victory over Cottonwood. The win was just what Carroll needed coming off of a 6-0 defeat in their prior game.
Macray Ledford was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Edwards, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Eufaula was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They suffered a rough 12-2 defeat at the hands of Beauregard.
Eufaula saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reed Hinton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Eufaula, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Everything went Carroll's way against Eufaula in their previous meeting back in March as Carroll made off with a 9-0 win. Will Carroll repeat their success, or does Eufaula have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
