Volleyball Game Preview: Albany Cougars vs. St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins

The Albany Cougars will take on the St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Patrick-St. Vincent took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Albany, who comes in off a win.

Albany will bounce into Monday's match after beating Head-Royce, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Cougars walked away with a 3-1 win over the Jayhawks on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Albany had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 29-27, 25-18, 25-20.

Meanwhile, St. Patrick-St. Vincent suffered their biggest defeat since September 8th on Wednesday. They came up short against Saint Mary's, falling 3-0. Bruins fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Panthers since Wednesday.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18, 25-13.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Albany, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
