Softball Preview: Spring Creek Spartans vs. Churchill County Greenwave

After three games on the road, Spring Creek is heading back home. They will take on the Churchill County Greenwave at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Spring Creek had to settle for a 6-5 loss against Fernley.

Mackenzie Morfin was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenny Ramicone, who went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Churchill County was able to grind out a solid victory over Lowry on Saturday, taking the game 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for Churchill County.

Janessa Bettencourt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances.
