Flag Football Game Preview: El Rancho Dons vs. La Serna Lancers

The El Rancho Dons will square off against the La Serna Lancers at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (El Rancho 14.4, La Serna 12.8) so any points scored will be well earned.

On Monday, El Rancho needed a bit of extra time to put away Santa Fe. They managed a 25-19 victory over the Chiefs. The win was some much needed relief for the Dons as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Melissa Perez was a one-woman wrecking crew as she rushed for 90 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 228 yards and two touchdowns.

El Rancho didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Alany Jacobo led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by herself. She also set a new season-high mark in defended passes with four.

Meanwhile, La Serna didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Villa Park on Monday, but they still walked away with a 12-7 victory.

El Rancho better keep an eye on Aubrie Baruch. She was instrumental in La Serna's win, rushing for 69 yards, while also throwing for 84 yards and one TD.

El Rancho's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-5. As for La Serna, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
