Basketball Recap: Andrean Extends Winning Streak to Four

If Lowell wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Andrean, they should've done a better job of containing Maddie Walton. The Andrean Fighting 59ers strolled past the Lowell Red Devils with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 49-32 thanks in part to Walton, who went 12 for 16 on her way to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lailoni Staten, who posted ten points and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

The win was the fourth in a row for Andrean, bringing their record for this year to 10-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Lowell, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Andrean will square off against Bowman Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lowell, they will head out to face off against Hobart at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
