Softball Recap: Fort Bragg Timberwolves vs. Kelseyville Knights
Fort Bragg extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 3-7 in the process. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kelseyville Knights. The Timberwolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Sierra Thompson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Jaelynn Bowles also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
As for Kelseyville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.
On Kelseyville's side, Ashlyn Wurm made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Wurm was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubree Sperber, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Josie Keithly, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
