Recap: Centennial Chargers vs. Crete-Monee Warriors
The Centennial Chargers lost against the Crete-Monee Warriors back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Centennial was beaten by Crete-Monee 47-13. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Crete-Monee is ranked 90th).
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kellen Davis, who picked up ten receiving yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 228 yards and a touchdown on only 15 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacobi Posey, who picked up 99 receiving yards and a touchdown.
This is the second loss in a row for Centennial and nudges their season record down to 6-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-2 Normal West (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 75% over those games). As for Crete-Monee, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Crete-Monee also has no future games currently scheduled.
