Monterey came out on top against Jackson County on Tuesday thanks in part to Dylan Whitehead's efforts. Whitehead made a splash, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He played a big game the last time he faced Jackson County back in April of 2024, so the team probably should've seen him coming. Whitehead also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Monterey is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise.
