Baseball Recap: Maplewood Comes Up Short

Maplewood suffered their biggest loss since April 13th on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to the Mathews Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 two weeks ago.

Maplewood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Cooper, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Maplewood's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7-1. As for Mathews, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maplewood will welcome John F. Kennedy Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mathews, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grand Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
