Basketball Game Preview: Palm Harbor University Hurricanes vs. Gulf Buccaneers

The Palm Harbor University Hurricanes will take on the Gulf Buccaneers in a holiday battle at at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Palm Harbor University took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Wednesday. They blew past Hudson, posting a 67-34 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Hurricanes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palm Harbor University to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Barkman, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grahm Pitcock, who posted five points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Palm Harbor University was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Gulf against Patel on Thursday as the squad secured a 69-26 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buccaneers.

Gulf's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Palm Harbor University, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
