Softball Recap: West Shamokin Wolves vs. Portage Mustangs
West Shamokin won against Northern Cambria last Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The West Shamokin Wolves were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over the Portage Mustangs. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Avery Elkin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Elkin was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, West Shamokin got a massive performance out of Cameron Vandervort, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Madi Keirn, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
