Volleyball Recap: Hughes Springs Comes Up Short

Hughes Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sulphur Springs Wildcats. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Hughes Springs may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 11 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-11.

Hughes Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sulphur Springs, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Hughes Springs will welcome Paris at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur Springs has already played their next match (against Mabank), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
