Basketball Recap: Destin Takes a Loss

Destin lost against North Bay Haven Academy back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Destin Sharks took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers.

Kaylee Goodpaster was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine steals for North Bay Haven Academy. That makes it four consecutive games in which Goodpaster has scored at least a third of North Bay Haven Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ally Brady, who posted eight points along with 16 boards and four steals.

Destin's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Destin will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Laurel Hill at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. North Bay Haven Academy and Pinson Valley will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Bay Haven Academy is facing Pinson Valley at the right time seeing as Pinson Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
