Soccer Game Preview: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North vs. McAllen

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North is 0-7 against McAllen since February of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North Raiders will host the McAllen Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game two weeks ago. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Vela. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 485th, while the Sabercats are ranked 225th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McAllen). They never let Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial onto the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Bulldogs with their most commanding win of the season.

McAllen has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those six games. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from McAllen in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
