Baseball Recap: Sale Creek Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Sale Creek brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They never let the Lookout Valley Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won four in a row.

Dylan Cunningham was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Cunningham was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maverick McCary, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Sale Creek: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Joe Bell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Sale Creek hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lookout Valley struck out ten times.

Sale Creek's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Lookout Valley, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sale Creek beat the Yellowjackets by a score of 12-0 later that day.
