Basketball Game Preview: Forest Wildcats vs. Bartram Trail Bears

Two dominant guards in Ja'Niyah McCoy and Alyssa Donohue are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Forest Wildcats will challenge the Bartram Trail Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Forest is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.

Forest took a loss when they played away from home back in January, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Trenton by a score of 64-54.

Forest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was McCoy, who went 6 for 9 en route to 22 points along with six assists and four steals. Jiyah Hamilton was another key player, going 6 of 11 on her way to 18 points.

McCoy wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Forest was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Bartram Trail was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Riverside 53-25. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Bartram Trail has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Forest, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.
