It was a good run, but Calvary Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Lourdes Academy by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2021.

Calvary Christian Academy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-16, 18-25, 18-25, 25-20, 15-6.

Despite the loss, Calvary Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Hailee Centeno, who had 12 digs.

Leading Lourdes Academy to victory were Jenna Acosta and Lily Garcia. Acosta had eight digs and three aces, while Garcia had 16 digs and five aces. The dominant performance gave Garcia a new career-high in aces.

Calvary Christian Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Lourdes Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian Academy will square off against Boca Raton Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boca Raton Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Calvary Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lourdes Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Ransom Everglades at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Ransom Everglades is coming into the contest with four straight wins at home, so Lourdes Academy will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
