Preview: College Station vs. Rudder
The College Station Cougars will be playing at home against the Rudder Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. College Station's last seven matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Tuesday, it was close, but College Station sidestepped Magnolia West for a 2-1 win.
College Station was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Ethan Riechman and
Anthony Peacher, who scored both of College Station's goals. The pair have combined for a total of eight so far this season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Rudder were a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to A&M Consolidated. Rudder has struggled against A&M Consolidated recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
College Station's win bumped their record up to 6-2-4. As for Rudder, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
College Station took their win against Rudder in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 7-1. With College Station ahead 4-1 at the half, the match was all but over already.
