Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Arnold's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Arnold won against Bay last Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Arnold Marlins came out on top against the Cottondale Hornets by a score of 7-2. The Marlins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.

Carter Campbell looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Josh Lindsey was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Austin Hendrix also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Arnold is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. Cottondale has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Arnold will challenge Holmes County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arnold's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Holmes County's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cottondale, it'll be a Battle of the Bugs Cottondale Hornets challenge Vernon Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
