On Thursday Reed's undefeated season almost came to an end. They skirted past the Lutheran Gryphons 2-0. The Olympians' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four matchups.
Reed got a massive performance out of Jaylen Williams, who got six hits. Williams also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Brown, who got five hits.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Reed kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 24 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Reed's win bumped their record up to 6-0.
Coming up, Reed will head out on the road to take on Istrouma at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lutheran, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on IDEA Bridge at 4:00 p.m. on the 12th.
