Baseball Recap: Cumberland Gap Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Cumberland Gap's offense. They came up short against the Union County Patriots on Wednesday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Cumberland Gap saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kole Carter, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Cumberland Gap and nudges their season record down to 7-7. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Union County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10-1.

While Cumberland Gap had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
