Volleyball Recap: Joe Braun Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Northampton

There's no place like home for Freedom, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Northampton Konkrete Kids with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Freedom not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Northampton between 16 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-19, 25-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Freedom to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joe Braun, who had 36 assists and four aces. What's more, Braun posted four kills, the most he's had since April 2nd. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Fleckenstein, who had 25 digs and two aces.

Freedom's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. As for Northampton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Freedom is set to take on their familiar foe Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Northampton will face off against rival Parkland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
