Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oxford). They walked away with a 56-47 win over the Ferndale Eagles on Friday.

Oxford's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 7-11. As for Ferndale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Oxford and Ferndale could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Oxford (ranked 200th) will meet Stoney Creek (ranked 61st) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oxford is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Similarly, Ferndale will face off against West Bloomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 138 places (204 vs. 66).
