Basketball Game Preview: Blythewood Bengals vs. Ridge View Blazers

Blythewood has won ten straight games at home, while Ridge View has won ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 2:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Blythewood strolled past Sumter with points to spare, taking the game 53-34. Given the Bengals' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Gamecocks are ranked 60th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Ridge View's strategy against West Florence on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Ridge View blew West Florence out of the water with a 74-24 final score. The Blazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Ridge View is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.1 points over those games. As for Blythewood, their win bumped their record up to 23-1.
