Volleyball Recap: Unity Beats Altoona for Their Third Straight Win

Unity waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Altoona Railroaders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Saturday.

Unity had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Andrea Erickson paced Unity's offense, picking up 15 kills. Erickson got some help from Madison Wilhelm and her 12 assists.

Unity's victory bumped their record up to 23-11. As for Altoona, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-19 record this season.

Unity has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Stanley-Boyd on the 11th. As for Altoona, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against St. Croix Central on the 14th.
