Volleyball Recap: Unity Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Unity had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Altoona Railroaders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Saturday.

Unity had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Andrea Erickson paced Unity's offense, picking up 15 kills. Erickson got some help from Madison Wilhelm and her 12 assists.

Unity's victory bumped their record up to 23-11. As for Altoona, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-19 record this season.

Unity has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Stanley-Boyd on the 11th. As for Altoona, they will venture away from home to square off against St. Croix Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
