Softball Recap: Bowie Picks Up Tenth Straight Win on the Road

Bowie hadn't done well against Leander recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bowie Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Leander Lions, sneaking past 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since April 12, 2024.

Josie Busceme was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadie Hays, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Bowie lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Bowie pushed their record up to 2-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs over those games. As for Leander, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.

Bowie didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Jourdanton on the 15th. Leander has also already played their next matchup (against Steele), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
