Basketball Recap: Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Takes a Loss

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 57-47 to the Upsala Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-35 last Tuesday.

Upsala's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eric Landowski, who on his way to 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Landowski is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last six games he's played. Jack Primus was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle's loss dropped their record down to 2-23. As for Upsala, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle will challenge Verndale at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Upsala, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals duke it out with the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
