Football Recap: FAMU DRS Takes a Loss

FAMU DRS lost against North Florida Christian back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Baby Rattlers had to suffer through a 49-12 loss at the hands of the Eagles.

A big part of North Florida Christian's victory came down to the chemistry between Tommy Coyne and his top target Kyle Estimond. Coyne threw for 184 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 passes while Estimond picked up 72 receiving yards and two scores. Those two receiving touchdowns gave Estimond a new career-high.

FAMU DRS' defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for North Florida Christian, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, FAMU DRS is taking a road trip to face off against Wewahitchka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Baby Rattlers will be up against the Gators' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Florida Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Maclay at 7:00 p.m.
