Basketball Recap: Neil Mathow's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Trinity Prep over Master's Academy

Trinity Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The game between them and the Master's Academy Eagles didn't end well, with the Trinity Prep Saints falling 73-56. The Saints were probably out for revenge after losing 78-41 to them when the teams met back in November of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Neil Mathow, who went 10 of 20 en route to 23 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Mathow a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Stillman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Trinity Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Trinity Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Master's Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.

Trinity Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 68-44 win against Geneva on the 10th. As for Master's Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-59 victory against Foundation Academy on the 10th.
