Basketball Recap: Valley Union Comes Up Short

Valley Union lost against Baboquivari back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Blue Devils took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors.

Despite the loss, Valley Union saw an underclassman step up: freshman James Richardson shot 54% from the field on his way to 21 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Richardson now owns an excellent 46.2% three-point shooting accuracy. Myles Richardson was another key player, putting up nine points.

Valley Union's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Baboquivari, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Warriors beat Valley Union by a score of 48-39 on Monday.
