Basketball Recap: Southern Rams vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The Southern Rams lost to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish back in January of 2023, but the Southern Rams didn't allow the Notre Dame Fighting Irish the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Southern managed a 55-50 win over the Fighting Irish. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Southern.
Jared Haskiell was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-6 from long range and almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joel Campbell, who scored nine points along with six steals.
Southern's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Notre Dame, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern will take on the Mountain Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tucker County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 663 points over their last nine matches. As for Notre Dame, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
