Basketball Recap: Raton Takes a Loss

Raton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 56-22 loss at the hands of the Des Moines Demons. The Tigers were probably out for revenge after losing 57-17 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Des Moines' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylan Brown, who posted 14 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Holly Ward, who scored 15 points and six boards.

Raton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Des Moines, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Raton has already played their next contest, a 36-25 victory against Walsenburg on the 14th. As for Des Moines, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 63-29 win against Clayton on the 11th.
