Soccer Game Preview: Glastonbury vs. Fairfield Prep

The Glastonbury Guardians will take on the Fairfield Prep Jesuits at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Glastonbury is headed into the match having not lost since September 30 and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand East Catholic a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Glastonbury's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut soccer rankings (they are ranked 27th, while East Catholic are ranked 91st).

Fairfield Prep hadn't beaten Xavier on the road since November 1, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. The Jesuits narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Falcons 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fairfield Prep.

Fairfield Prep's victory bumped their record up to 10-4-4. As for Glastonbury, the win got them back to even at 6-6-4.
