Softball Game Preview: Holy Cross Cougars vs. Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees

The Holy Cross Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Holy Cross has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bullitt East hit Holy Cross with a five-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Chargers, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost three in a row.

Holy Cross saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Minor, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Bethlehem never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bardstown on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering the Eagles/Banshees have won 17 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Holy Cross' loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Bethlehem, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 20-13 record.
