Softball Recap: Hackensack Comes Up Short

Cliffside Park hit Hackensack with a 13-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets came up short against the Red Raiders, falling 17-1. The Comets were not able to make up for their loss to the Red Raiders from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Hackensack saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briana Darling, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Darling is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 21 games she's played dating back to last season.

This is the second loss in a row for Hackensack and nudges their season record down to 6-9-1. As for Cliffside Park, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-6 record.

Looking ahead, Hackensack will challenge North Bergen at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cliffside Park, they will square off against Teaneck at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
