Baseball Recap: Buena Vista Takes a Loss

Buena Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Las Animas Trojans.

Buena Vista saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elio Ynfante, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Julian Lopez-Olsen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Buena Vista's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Las Animas, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Buena Vista will look to defend their home field on Saturday against La Junta at 4:00 p.m. The Demons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Las Animas, they will head out on the road to square off against Rocky Ford at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Meloneers have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
