Basketball Recap: B O L D Piles Up the Points Against Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart

B O L D had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 60-22 win over the Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Mustangs. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Mustangs are ranked 410th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

B O L D had a senior duo take command as Will Penkert shot 5-for-7 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards and Jack Gross went 8 for 11 on his way to 18 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Penkert has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Vosika, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

B O L D has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

B O L D didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-70 loss against Springfield on the 12th. Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart has also already played their next match, a 68-30 defeat against Lester Prairie on the 14th.
