Baseball Recap: Delta Wins Going Away Against Cowan

Delta not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28th (when they won 23-2). Everything went their way against the Cowan Blackhawks as they made off with a 16-3 victory. The Eagles have beaten the Blackhawks the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Blackhawks has come to flipping the script.

Myles Enos tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Chase Flannery and Everrett Linn did most of the damage at the plate: Flannery went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Linn went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most hits Flannery has posted since back in April. Gavin Case was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four runs.

Delta's record is now 14-7. As for Cowan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Delta has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Yorktown on the 17th. As for Cowan, they will take on Daleville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.83 runs per game on average), something the Blackhawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
