Volleyball Recap: Syracuse Falls Short Against Ranked Orem

Syracuse faced Orem in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Titans came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Titans haven't been shut out since back in August.

Their offense was headlined by Emily Kenison and Brinley Barkdull, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Miyah Lish and her 26 assists. Avery Eriksen controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

With the loss, Syracuse broke their six-match winning streak and moved their record to 16-6. As for Orem, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Syracuse is taking a road trip to square off against Weber at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orem, they will challenge Summit Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
