Softball Recap: Hemphill Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Hemphill's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Burkeville Mustangs a 14-0 shutout. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by nine runs or more this season.

With the victory, Hemphill broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-11-1. As for Burkeville, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hemphill will host Colmesneil at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hemphill is facing Colmesneil at the right time seeing as Colmesneil is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Burkeville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brookeland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Burkeville's pitchers better be ready for this one: Brookeland has averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
