Basketball Recap: Adley Pappan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sedan over Udall

Sedan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They took a 61-42 bruising from the Udall Eagles. The Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Sedan's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adley Pappan, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 14 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Pappan a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (80%). Another player making a difference was Payton Carter, who went 6-for-14 en route to 14 points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Sedan was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Udall found their leader in sophomore Lilly Hoffman, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 boards set a new season-high mark for Hoffman. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayl Knapp, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds.

Sedan's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Udall, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-11.

Sedan has already played their next contest, a 27-18 defeat against West Elk on the 17th. As for Udall, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-42 loss against Cedar Vale/Dexter on the 21st.
