Volleyball Game Preview: Roy Royals vs. Viewmont Vikings

After both having extra time off, the Roy Royals and the Viewmont Vikings will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Roy came up short against Woods Cross last Thursday, falling 3-0.

While Roy ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Viewmont faced Box Elder in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Thursday. The Vikings came out on top against the Bees by a score of 3-1. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Bees recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Viewmont had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-21.

Roy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Viewmont, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Roy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Viewmont in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
