Softball Game Preview: Sylacauga Aggies vs. Benjamin Russell Wildcats

The Sylacauga Aggies will head out to challenge the Benjamin Russell Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sylacauga is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Sylacauga came up short against Central of Clay County and fell 5-2.

Sylacauga saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Harshberger, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Benjamin Russell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Calera on Tuesday, sneaking past 9-7. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Lydia Montgomery, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Cheyenne Fuller was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Sylacauga's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Benjamin Russell, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11-1.

Sylacauga was able to grind out a solid win over Benjamin Russell when the teams last played back in March, winning 7-2. Will the Aggies repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
