Softball Game Preview: Port Richmond Raiders vs. Dewey

After both having extra time off, the Port Richmond Raiders and Dewey will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Richmond is looking for their season's first victory.

Port Richmond is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brooklyn Technical last Thursday. Even if the Raiders couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, Dewey also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to New Utrecht by a score of 6-3. The defeat continues a trend for Dewey in their meetings with New Utrecht: they've now lost four in a row.

Port Richmond's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Dewey, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything went Port Richmond's way against Dewey when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Port Richmond made off with a 23-0 victory. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do Dewey have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
