Recap: Jenkins Warriors vs. Bradwell Institute Tigers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Coffee, The Jenkins Warriors were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They came out on top against Bradwell Institute by a score of 41-33. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Jenkins' zero-point performance the match before.
Jenkins found their leader in underclassman Domonique Johnson, who rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Joe Polite was another key contributor, rushing for 71 yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Bradwell Institute lost, one person who can't be blamed is Christopher Garrett. Despite the final result, he rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes. Another player making a difference was Bryant Thomas, who picked up 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Jenkins' victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Bradwell Institute, their defeat was their third straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 3-7.
Jenkins will square off against Statesboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Statesboro is ranked 194th, while Jenkins is ranked 196th). As for Bradwell Institute, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenbrier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenbrier is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
