Volleyball Recap: Central Grizzlies vs. Buchanan Bears
Central and Buchanan faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Tuesday. The Grizzlies came up short against the Bears, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.
Central couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Buchanan a tough time in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 31-29.
Buchanan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cole Haroldsen, who had 25 assists and five digs. Haroldsen is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hobbs, who had 11 digs and three assists.
Central has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-11 record this season. As for Buchanan, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 22-15.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Central will face off against rival Clovis North at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Buchanan is set to square off against their familiar foe Clovis West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
