Game recap: Early lead propels Bergen Catholic to victory over St. Anthony's

Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) jumped out to an early lead against St. Anthony's (Melville, N.Y.) and never looked back on the way to a 59-21 victory on Saturday.

The Crusaders put up 14 points in the opening frame. Bergen Catholic scored on a passing touchdown, a passing touchdown, a defensive touchdown and a defensive touchdown.

BC was up 31-7 at the half after taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter.

The Oradell school expanded its lead to 31 points entering the fourth quarter. The Crusaders scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run.

St. Anthony's (0-1) will play a Catholic AAA-AA game against Iona Prep next week, while Bergen Catholic (1-0) will take on Bishop Gorman in a non-conference game.
